Front End Web Developer and Designer

The Work

We’re a startup looking for people who enjoy working together in small teams to solve big problems in creative ways. 

We need someone to work full time with the design team to define and implement great looking web applications to help improve our existing products and create new ones.

The job is mostly remote, based in one of the following locations or close proximity to:

Croatia: Zagreb or Split
Spain: Barcelona
New Zealand: Auckland, Whangarei


The Role

> Develop new user-facing features

> Collaborate with product and design teams to translate UI/UX design wireframes into code

> Write reusable code and libraries

> Participate in code review processes

> Attend 30-60 minute daily standup meetings with the rest of the development team

> Strong english skills to communicate with mostly english speaking team members


Skills + Qualifications

Here are some of the things we’re searching for. You may not know them all, but the more you do, the better the fit you’d be on our team:

  • Demonstrable ability to translate a designer’s vision into code using CSS and web frameworks is required.
  • 2-4 years of professional experience in a similar role
  • Significant experience with front-end web frameworks, especially React
  • Strong command of the latest HTML and CSS tools and trends, including SASS/SCSS
  • Experience with front-end web build tools like Webpack
  • Experience implementing responsive design
  • Experience dealing with cross-browser issues
  • Experience working on a remote team
  • Good sense of object-oriented program design
  • An eye for and interest in visual elegance and beauty
  • Experience porting legacy apps into new frameworks
  • Demonstrable portfolio

Given that many in the dev team are former musicians (don’t know how that happened!) we’re curious to see what your creativity and unique skills will bring to the mix.
